Shower Restoration vs. Renovation

At Strassburger Tile Perfection, we believe in helping homeowners live with as little stress and as many savings as possible. That’s why we believe in shower restoration as the first step to helping people with their showers.

Saving your existing shower might be easier than you think. Showers that are used regularly are exposed to water and a vast array of products used to maintain yourself, then another number of chemicals used to clean the shower itself. All these combined over time will take their toll on any shower. Often, people don’t realize that this prolonged exposure can cause issues, so it’s not addressed by homeowners.

Shower Restoration vs Renovation

Well, all is not lost — Strassburger Tile Perfection will restore that shower.

How We Help Restore Your Shower

A deep impact clean of all surfaces start off any good restoration. Our team will then remove all the failing silicone & acrylic caulk, followed by any tile & grout service or replacement. We then seal all of the absorbent surfaces like cement grout or natural stone, then finish off with an installation of premium silicone caulk.

Metal fixtures & glass surfaces in a shower take a beating as well. We will do our deep impact clean and polish of these expensive components to restore them to their original condition in nearly every case.

If your shower is finished with any natural stone, we will diamond polishing all these surfaces as well. Old shower door systems can be replaced with modern single-piece glass panels affordably.

Common Issues with Showers

Shower Restoration vs Renovation

Sometimes water makes its way behind the wall tiles. We will even repair or replace any damaged structural materials like wallboard, apply liquid waterproof membranes in the areas of replacement, and more

Another common issue is a crack on the concrete pad below the shower due to water damage. In these cases, we can use a proven process to fix the pad instead of replacing the entire shower pan.

If your shower is short on space to set your personal hygiene containers, Strassburger’s techs will install premium quartz or glass exposed or recessed shelves

If that old marble threshold sill cracked? We will replace it with a beautiful new piece of marble or even better, go with a chemical resistant quartz sill.

An average shower restoration can be completed in less than a week. This investment is much less than the average shower replacement, which can range from $6000-$20,000 and take anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks to complete.
